The first being a sample of what I think is one of my favorite fics to date: "Apocalypse Later", and the second being text from my most recent journal post.
I got the first guy too out of one of my tags with Nill to Iggy but I don't read many books outside of the teen section(lol /retard) so I have no idea who it is. o3o'
That's actually...kind of weird. He's best known for writing...I guess the best way to describe them would be psychologically...not terrifying, really, but uncomfortable.
He's the author of Fight Club, if that helps at all.
But he tends to write books about topics that can be...hard to read about. So it's odd that you got him with a Nill tag.
I mean, I'm sure you can find a whole bunch of helpful stuff (i.e. reviews/summaries of his works) if you Google him. Actually, the names appear to be links to Amazon pages for the authors, so that's another way to try and figure it out.
Ah, I remember that whole process. So, where'd you end up deciding to go?
Things are going all right for me - hectic and busy what with working over the summer on thesis research and the like, but...I guess it's the good kind of busy. And, hey - it's helping me graduate, so it can't be all that bad.
Ahhhh, thesis(es?)! I haven't even started university and already the concept of those things terrifies me... the fact they can kill more trees than the Harry Potter series, I mean. Please try not to die under their onslaught. It'd be tragic.
This being a public forum, I won't say the name of the school, but it's a place with a good reputation for history. Considering I want to be a history professor... good deal!
The campus is incredibly gorgeous, too. So much green, growing life! I think I'll do most of my studying outside.
They are surprisingly more terrifying when you get all up close and personal with them like I'm doing at the moment. Still, research is going well, and my preliminary results look promising, so...yay?
That sounds great! Well, I wish you all the best, and if there's ever anything I can help you with, feel free to drop me a line here or shoot me an email.
Yea, my history teacher said her thesis in fourth year was about 80 pages, at 250 words a page - and then another 30 pages or so of annotated bibliography. Honestly, if I ever have to hand in a thesis like that, I'm going to buy some pleather and bind it like an actual book.
I'm a molecular biology major, and right now I'm working in the breast cancer lab at the university. My thesis looks like it will probably be on a particularly interesting signaling molecule, which may or may not have some important function for cancer development.
In short, as my friends like to put it, I'm currently trying to cure cancer. As cliche as that sounds.
Well, the old adage is that retro becomes chic again about every 70 years. So, you're a c-- er, you're from about 50 years in the future! Or maybe you mean retro like 60s? Because technically bellbottoms and psychedelic colours are back in fashion, they're just being butchered by today's teenyboppers.
Oh man, I need to live just long enough for those hovercars to become affordable. Or maybe I'll buy one when they only as much as a house. Then I can go out in a blaze of glory like the chase scene in The Fifth Element.

Nah, all joking aside, I'm actually....oddly retro when it comes to a lot of things. Like...my fashion sense.
