Seriously, I swear I'll post something substantial soon. Like the final chapters of that multi-part Kurama/Yusuke fic I started something like two years ago. And something original, too, just for the hell of it.

But for now: more memes! You have Blue to blame for this one.

Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me!" I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions. You will post the answers to the questions (and the questions themselves) on your journal. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions. And thus the endless cycle of the meme goes on and on and on and on until you die or forget to do it...whichever comes first.

I preface this by saying: I'm really not creative at all, so feel free to ask me for an interview - but I can't guarantee the quality of the questions you'll get.

But, on to the actual meme. Questions from [livejournal.com profile] blueutopiah

1. Will you be at Princeton in the spring so we can meet up for dinner one night? I'll make the drive down. YES. I will be here until sometime in late May, with a week off in...late March, I believe for Spring Break, when I am being lame and going home. Probably.

2. What is your favourite type of music to sing? (arias, show tunes, rock...) Hmm... I'm not particularly picky, but I will admit to really enjoying a good show tune. The Broadway performance I went out on senior year of high school really stands out in my mind as being particularly fun. Probably because it involved flimsy tops, fishnet stockings, and groping myself onstage in front of my Headmistress.

3. Narcissistic question: Which one of my stories is your favourite and why? You know, given our most recent exchange of comments, you might not expect this, and I'm not sure I did, either, but - I think I'd have to go with "Daddy". I think I like it because it's something that really stuck with me, you know? And it's something I would never have considered writing, but it's just... I don't know. Creepy and wrong and fantastic, all at the same time.

4. What is your favourite band and why? Okay, this? A totally unfair question. I listen to such a strange amalgamation of music with absolutely no preference for genre or group that I couldn't even begin to answer this. So, in lieu of actually answering, I am simply going to point out a band that is lame, but has some really entertaining lyrics and dreadfully catchy songs: Newsboys.

5. When was the last time you cried? I'm going to assume - regardless of what you actually meant, because I honestly can't remember the most recent time I cried - that you mean really cried, like, for a good reason. Which would make it...sometime in mid-December, when I went home for Christmas. And, assuming you're going to want details, it was over the fact that I really have no idea if I'm going to be able to do what I want to do with my life - but I have contingency plans for that situation, so it'll all be okay. I hope.

Sweet. Then we will meet up in the spring because I try not to venture out in this retarded-cold.

It's perfectly normal not to know what you want to do with your life. I envy people that have known since they were young.

And - INTERVIEW ME.

EXCELLENT.

ALSO: I have to add an edit to this post and say that I have recently fallen in love with "Straight, No Chaser" who are not a band, per se, but amazing nonetheless. SERIOUSLY.

1. What made you get into the work you do?

2. Is there something you've always wanted to do, but either can't/haven't had the opportunity yet?

3. Narcissistic question in return: Which of my stories is your favorite, and why?

4. I guess also a sort of narcissistic question: What made you decide to friend me? Was it only my fanfic? I mostly ask because I seem a lot more subdued than a lot of the people you seem to hang out with normally.

5. What is your idea of a perfect day?

MY QUESTIONS ARE SO LAME!

I decided to friend you because I like your writing, but I want to be acquainted with you a bit.

INTERVIEW ME.

Goodness, that's going to make this a little harder. But, I guess I might as well get to know you in five questions!

1. Describe yourself. You can take that any way you like, really: physically, mentally, etc.

2. What sorts of things do you like? Hobbies, subjects, types of people...?

3. Narcissistic question: How'd you find my fics, and which do you like best?

4. What are you into? Other than YYH, obviously. Sports, music, other fandoms?

5. And just because I kind of like this question and what it potentially says about people: What is your idea of the perfect day?

1. Mentally, I'm a teenage boy.
2. I like to read, sing ,and just...hang out.
3. I love to sing, read, write music, and play video games. The people I like are the ones who don't take themselves seriously.
3. I found your fics through some rec site. You got me into YusKur, and now, I love it.
5. My idea of the perfect day is one where it's about sixty degrees all day, and there's nothing to do at school but chill.

Seems I've attracted another vocalist - and a composer, at that. What sorts of music do you write?

And another warm-weather lover. Interesting, given I chose to give up the balmy West Coast for the East.

I write mostly melody driven pieces that feature each part in its right. Composing is fun, but painstaking. I do love music theory.

That sounds awesome - I've been performing for a while now, but I have very little technical grasp of music. I'm actually enrolled in a music theory/composition class this semester, in the hopes of changing that.

I've been in Choir and Piano since I was five--which is twelve years, and I'm in Advanced Music Theory in hopes of making a high score on the AP. But I'm good at analyzing music and chord progressions. If you have any questions, I'm here.

The technical part is very difficult to understand if you have little background in it. Don't give up!

Sweet - thanks for the offer, I'll definitely keep it in mind if I run up against something that doesn't make sense.

I'm noticing that the less I think about it, the easier certain things are. Like dictation assignments - if I just write the music as I hear it, rather than think, 'Is that right? Maybe I should check it...' I'm actually not bad.

I think I sort of have an instinctive knowledge of things from my years performing (like you, I've been doing structured choral music for...oh...thirteen years?), so the less I second-guess myself, the better.

Just wait for harmonic. It's lovely. My teacher just threw in a bunch of non harmonic tones for us to use and now we're able to use every chord except III and iii.

The Aural skills part isn't hard at all, but the whole 'Write a chorale in ten minutes' is.

What the heck. Interview me!

Date: 2009-02-10 09:10 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lady-flamewing.livejournal.com
Hmmm...

1) If you could do anything - absolutely anything at all - with your life, what would it be?

2) What's your idea of the perfect day?

3) What interests you? I realize that's sort of a broad question, but feel free to interpret it any way you like.

4) Would you rather fly or be invisible?

5) When are we going to do that eloping thing?

From: [identity profile] nightwalker.livejournal.com
1) Writing and researching, for sure. I'd also love to work for a non-profit organization and spend my days building houses and working in fields.

2) That's harder to answer than I thought it would be. My perfect day? Spring, in the mountains, with a notebook and good company. Want to take a road trip? :)

3) Stories. Not just books, either. I like comics, TV, movies, campfire stories - anything like that. I like worlds and politics and deep, meaty plots but most of all I like characters.

4) Fly. Hands-down.

5) hmmm. I like early summer. June?

Hey, do I get to interview you? *starts brainstorming questions*

2) I'm game if you are.

4) Same here. Definitely.

5) An excellent choice - weather should be fabulous.

*facepalm*

Also, because I fail: Interview away!
